DreamRiders (working title,) a new reality TV show, explores the uncharted territory of the backroads of America and introduces the world to the unassuming people living out spectacular dreams... while living in the middle of nowhere. DreamRiders shows real people with real dreams and the real fears they must overcome to make their dreams come true. DreamRiders proves that big dreams come accompanied by big fears. The DreamRiders are those who look their fear in the eye and get on that dream and ride—ride it hard in spite of the fear. Only the DreamRiders live their dreams; the rest must be content with fantasies.

What A Long Strange Journey It'll Be

Set against the backdrop of a transcontinental bicycle trip, you’ll meet these extraordinary people through our two main characters, a father and son separated for years by divorce and their own fears. Now, they’re coming together on this trip, the first long-distance bike tour for both of them, to fulfill their own dreams and become DreamRiders.

Hopes and Conflicts

Their hopes are high: to pursue the adventure of a lifetime, to share their hearts and get to know each other, to learn to love and trust each other again. The father is riding to New York City, leaving behind his secure job as an educator to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor. He yearns to make up for the lost years with his son, wanting to teach him to be a better man but, at the same time, knowing he must accept him just as he is. The son dreams of figuring out how he and his father can fit into each others lives as the boy becomes a man, to show his dad that he is good enough, that he can measure up. He sees the trip as his Walkabout, his chance to figure out what course he wants to chart for his life as he graduates from high school.

Obstacles and Adventures

But where hopes run high, so do obstacles, obstacles as high as the Rocky Mountains and as wide as a continent. When the pressure is on will they pull together or pull apart? Will the Continental Divide divide them? Will the burning, Great Plains sun wither their resolve? When the father introduces the son to paragliding, will the son rise in his father’s eyes or will he be grounded by fear? Does the father have the guts to be a rodeo clown or will he balk at being a human bulls-eye for a 2000-pound bull? When the father writes a song on the road, will they make beautiful music together around the campfire or will the harmony be broken by the same old frustration they’ve experienced in the past? And will their conversations around the fire convince them that they will reach their dreams and their destination or leave them wondering if today is the day to quit pretending and just quit.

Though in pursuit of a dream, the DreamRiders are not all work and no play. Paragliding, rodeo, skydiving, cliff diving, street luge: the cameras will capture every thrill and you’ll share in every heart-stopping moment. You never know what adventure lies around the next bend in the road or what incredible vista will unfold. You’ll see the beautiful, the unique and the just plain weird of the American landscape through the eyes of our explorers as they experience it. And no matter where these two are on the road, they are never far from laughter. Who knows what pranks they will think up next or who will punk who today?

I (still) Have A Dream

But more than anything, you’ll never forget the people they meet along the way. Ordinary people on the surface who are anything but ordinary when you get to know them. People who dream dreams of every size, shape and color imaginable. From the beautiful to the outlandish, you’ll hear them in their own words, see the fire and hope in their eyes, feel the rain and despair as they admit that their dreams have died. And as one tiny spark holds the power to ignite a whole forest, you’ll watch to see if the DreamRiders can rekindle the hopes of those whose dreams are lost and catch fire themselves from standing too close to those whose dreams burn hot.
